I've never been a huge fan of April fools. I suppose some of the jokes are pretty funny, but some of them are so obvious. I can't tell you how many people went from "single" to "engaged" on Facebook, and then said something like, we know it's fast but we just know it's right!
It actually took me reading this blog to even realize it was April Fool's Day. I was excited for her (even though I don't really know her, I just blog stalk her), and then I started reading the comments and I knew the rest of the day would be full of lies!
I think my disdain for this day comes from a few years back when I was in high school. I was sleeping when my mom came and woke me up. She said school was cancelled for a snow day, which wasn't too far off to believe since we had had 2 or 3 that year. I did a little "yesssssssssssss" and she left me to fall back into my wonderful slumber. Ten minutes later she comes in and says, "Hey Kate, April Fool's!" I was not amused. I woke up, got ready for school and blamed this holiday for my pain.
Thanks mom, you killed the joy of April Fool's.
