A hat and a gun

I'm not sure how kids decide what toys they're going to cling to at any given time, but the last day we were in Idaho, Nixon decided that this hat and gun was his choice of toy. He pretended to shoot the dinosaurs and other play animals my parents had for hours. He was thoroughly entertained, as was I!

With how cute he looks in the hat, maybe a Newsie will be in our sights for Halloween!

A trip to the farm

We always make sure to visit my brother's house when we visit Idaho because he has his own little farm going on. Although we didn't have many animal encounters this time, we had plenty of fun on the toys. Whether it was the four-wheeler, lawnmower, or Little Tikes car, we had a great time.

Dress up

My brother and his family came over to my parents so the two boys could spend a little more time together. They were so fun together! We had music playing and they were breaking it down. They were running around the house like chickens, and then came across a box full of dress shirts Cameron had brought over.

They were all over the house. At some point, the boys were putting the shirts over heads, and I'm pretty sure at least one (maybe my child) ran into the wall.

I love my visits at home and seeing Nixon build relationships with the cousins on my side. It makes me look forward to family reunions.

Like mother like son

Anyone who knows me well, knows I don't do dishes without gloves. I just don't. Who knows, maybe I'm passing on the trait?

Buddies

Every time we visit Idaho, it seems like these two pick up just where they left off. They are the best of friends, and it makes my heart so happy that even being thousands of miles away, they're still best friends.

Can't forget about Sam either. 

Trip to Idaho

Every year I take a trip to Idaho to visit my family. This year, I got an extra trip since my mom wasn't able to come out to North Carolina to visit. I was over the moon!

It makes my heart happy to see Nixon pick up with my parents where we left off the last time we were there. Thank heavens for technology!

Chopped

I get into moods with my hair. It was time again for me to be over my hair. The hard thing about living in a new place is trying to find someone I'll trust with my hair, without spending our entire savings!

One day, I was done. I was looking on Groupon and found a decent price with great reviews. I decided to call and make an appointment. Best. Decision.

I'm loving it. It feels like butter, and I love how little time (and conditioner!) it takes.
