Announcements

I'm so excited to finally show what I've been working on for the past month or so. My best friend Brennan and I decided to team up for the seniors she's been doing pictures (as well as hair and makeup) for. She decided she wanted to get senior reps to help spread the word about her photography. Along with free sessions with her, they were given a free consultation with me to talk about doing their announcements.

We wanted to have some mock ups to show people and I'm happy with how they all turned out! If you or someone you know needs a graduation announcement (or any other kind of announcement) send them my way!

Valentine's Day (with dessert recipe!)

Valentine's Day was awesome. It was low key and perfect. We got off work a little bit early so we could go to dinner before the rush of the dinner dates happened. We decided to hit up Texas Roadhouse and we got there about 4:30. It was absolutely packed! We got up to the counter and they told us it would be about a 75 minute wait. There was no way we were going to wait that long, even it meant going to cheap, quick food.

We went out to wait in our car instead of in the crowded restaurant, and I decided to call around to see if any other places had a shorter wait time. I called a place right across the parking lot called Firehouse Grill. We'd never eaten there before so I figured it was worth a shot. I called and asked if they had a waiting time and what do you know, they didn't! We immediately gave our little buzzer thing to someone else in line, and we were off. We got in immediately and got our food within 10 minutes. The food was great and just right for us: not too fancy but not fast food either.

After dinner, we ran to Walmart to get a few things for some desserts I was going to make. I decided on my mom's fantastic cheesecake recipe and an Oreo icebox dessert I found on Pinterest. They turned out fantastic (as you can see in the picture). Both of them are almost gone, but I'm pretty sure my dad and Ethan have a lot to do with that!

Apparently I can't give out the cheesecake recipe (it's not actually my mom's to give out), but here's the recipe for the Oreo ice box dessert...

Oreo Icebox Dessert (from here)

1 (15 oz.) package Oreos, crushed
6 T. butter, melted
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened (I used neufchatel cheese)
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 large (5.1 oz.) box instant chocolate pudding + milk to prepare, as specified on the pudding package (I used sugar free which will make the ounces on the package less)
1 large (16 oz.) container Cool Whip whipped topping (I used 1 8 oz container of Lite Cool Whip)

Directions

1.  Set aside about 1/4 cup crushed Oreos.  Mix remaining crushed Oreos with the melted butter.  Press into the bottom of a 9x13" pan.
2.  Combine cream cheese and confectioners' sugar; mix well.  Fold in 1/2 of the Cool Whip until well combined.  Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crushed Oreo layer.  Chill for 20 minutes.
3.  Prepare chocolate pudding according to package directions.  Spread over cream cheese layer.  Chill for 20 minutes.
4.  Spread remaining Cool Whip over the pudding layer.  Sprinkle reserved crushed Oreos on top.  Chill for 8 hours or overnight before serving.

Throwback Thursday

To a time when life was simple, and I loved pushing my babies around. Look at that adoring gaze I have. Maybe I won't be too terrible of a mother! :)

27 Weeks

How far along? 27 weeks

How big is baby? According to my pregnancy app, he weighs about 2 pounds and it approximately 14.5in.

Total weight gain/loss:  ... I'm gaining, but I've started getting back in to more intense workouts so hopefully that will level out a bit!.

Maternity clothes? Yes, but still no jeans that I like!

Sleep: Sleeping great!

Best moment this week: Going to my appointment and hearing his little heartbeat again!

Movement: Most definitely. He's constantly bumping my computer.

Food cravings:  Nope

Food Aversions: Still none. :)

Gender: It's a boy

Labor Signs:  Nope!

Pregnancy Symptoms:  Slightly more emotional than the average emotional me.

Belly Button in or out? It's still in, but it's starting to flatten out a bit.

What I miss:  Wearing all of my cute church clothes!

What I am looking forward to: My parents coming to visit!!

Upcoming appointments/events:  Not for a while.

Milestones: At my appointment this week I did the glucose test (which is not even close to as bad as people make it out to be), and everything looked great! My hemoglobin was perfect and no diabetes for me. :) Also, because my blood type is O-, I had to get the Rh shot. Again, not as bad as I was expecting. I'm pretty sure the build up to both of these things were worse than the actual thing!

Support team

The older I get, and the more I go through hard things, the more I realize that I am definitely surrounded by the people that are supposed to be in my life. I have no doubt that I was born into the family I was because they would be the ones to help me. I can't even count how many times I've called my parents or siblings and they were just who I needed to talk to.

Same with the friends that I have at this time in my life. I have a handful of really good friends right now. They help me without even realizing it. It's the invitation to come hang out, or the text to see what's going on. They are small and simple things, but they mean a great deal to me.

And of course there is Ethan. He puts up with more than most people could ever imagine. He is patient and kind and does everything he can to help me in any way possible. There is no doubt that he was prepared to be with me and that we are supposed to be together.

Everything happens for a reason. We go through things to make us stronger, and we have been sent people to help us through. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father for knowing what and who I need, even when I don't.
